Welcome

The Band was formed in 2008 as a result of two ex Brigade of Guards Drummers, both living in North Wiltshire, meeting through membership of the Guards Division Corps of Drums Association.

Stuart Sutton and John Ireland were both concerned that there are few such bands left in existence especially in the South of England and that it would be a very useful discipline to give young people in this area and a marvellous opportunity for them to learn to play a musical instrument and  perform in a marching Band.

Our Aims

To maintain a Drum & Flute Corps in North Wiltshire

To assist local Cadet Units and Civilian Bands to maintain and improve their musical skills

To keep this form of traditional music alive

                             &

To provide free musical tuition to the young people of the area

Membership

Membership is open to anyone from the age of 14 upwards although youngsters from 9 years of age can also join as associate members. No matter where you live if you can get here, come and join us and learn to play in our band.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit.

Funding

The Band would like to thank all of our sponsors without whose kind help we would not be able to provide such a wonderful facility for the young people who are our members. The Big Lottery Fund for granting us the money to purchase our new musical instruments and now Westlea Housing who have undertaken to finance our practice hall for the coming year.

We also wish to thank all the individuals who have donated to us varying amounts over the past year and have enabled us to continue with our passion which is to make music and to teach others so that they may also develop the ability and love of this craft. Paddy Croxley, Andy Ireland, Stuart Sutton, Paul Ellis and of course John Ireland.
